Magpies Win ITM 2011 Championship Final
Hawke's Bay 35 Manawatu 30
Bryn Evans couldnt have asked for a better send off than the Magpies 35 to 30 win over Manawatu Turbos."We proved this tonight. We played without nine of our first-stringers and beat the form team from both ITM Cup competitions."
He was full of praise for the work done by two members of this year's World Cup-winning New Zealand under-20 side, lock Brodie Retallick and tighthead prop Ben Tameifuna. They deserved it, as this pair again enhanced their reputation as future All Blacks.
"We're back to where we belong," said Evans, referring to the fact the Magpies gained promotion to the Premiership with the victory.
Just as the Magpies came to play, so did the Turbos. There was more action during the first quarter of this match than there was in the entire tryless Premiership final played between Canterbury and Waikato the previous night.
Go Fast stays with the team as their product supplier for next years season and will help them to achieve even better success in 2012.
